Introduction

What's in the ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management?

The ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management comprehensively covers the full range of responsibilities of the first line manager and can be tailored to fit specific needs. 
The full certificate consists of an induction, ten x 15-hour modules plus tutorial support. Each module comprises 5 x 3-hour segments, of which three are core (except module C2 which has four) and two are chosen from between 3 and 5 optional segments offered. This enhances the flexibility for the programme content to be matched to identified training needs. 
The whole programme will take a minimum of 160 hours development time, plus time for assessment to provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to perform effectively in the high pressure world of the twenty-first century.

How long will it take?

The ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management will typically take between 9 and 15 months, though this can be extended to a maximum of three years where necessary. Timescales are flexible according to personal or professional needs, and the use of alternative delivery methods can be effective in enabling participants to fit study around their personal and work life. 

Where do the qualifications lead?

The ILM Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management can be designed to provide specific knowledge and skills for people working towards the Level 3 S/NVQ in Management. It provides an effective platform for moving onto ILM's Level 4 Diploma in Management Qualifications. 
Candidates who achieve this award will be eligible to apply for ILM Associate Membership (AMInstLM).
