Roof Top Access Safety Training

Introduction

This training course is intended for all personnel who require to gain access to both guarded and unguarded roof tops.

Aims

The aims of the course is to train individuals in the correct use of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to both access and work safely on roof tops following laid down requirements.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, each trainee will have acquired the necessary skills and understanding to be able to assess the roof top and take the necessary precautions by using the correct form of PPE.

They will understand the differences between restraint, work position and fall arrest, how to inspect, log, clean and store PPE.

The Course Covers

Assessments

Each trainee is assessed during the practical element of the course to ensure full understanding of all systems of work taught. There is also a written test, consisting of a multiple choice theory test followed by a full debrief. A minimum of 80% on the theory is required to secure a pass.

The Instructor

Holds a current Industrial Access and Climbing Safety Instructors Certificate, with a minimum five years experience in PPE and its use.
