A Guide to the ADR, CDG Road, and CDGCPL Regulations

Introduction

This course has been designed for safety consultants, managers and other staff who need to have a competent understanding of these regulations but do not need to be registered.

ADR

The guide sets out to give an understanding of the way in which the two annexes are set out, the topics they cover and what they contain in the way of detailed rules.

CDG Road

Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road - Looks at the update of the UK regs. The implementation and the requirements of the European Council directive No. 94/55/EC or ADR Framework directive.

CDGCPL

Carriage of Dangerous Goods ,Classification, Packaging and Labelling. This regulation replaces the 1994 Carriage of Dangerous Goods Act for Road and Rail. As the new title suggests they now cover the use of transportable pressure receptacles. There are substantial amendments which brings us in line with the 9th edition of the Orange book and ADR and RID framework.

Basic Know How

Looks at the regs as laid down for persons moving the goods and class know how, e.g. common characteristics of dangerous goods: containment, segregation, reaction, neutralizing, PPE, first aid, fire regs. etc.
