Introduction Course

Introduction

This course is for technical persons requiring to understand the capabilities of PLCs, their methods of operation and their use in an industrial environment.

Aims

To enable candidates to safely install, programme, diagnose and fault find on various PLC systems which may be operating industrial machinery or pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

We provide PLC training courses for the main PLC types: Siemens S5 & S7, Allen Bradley SLC500/Micrologix, Compact/Control Logix, Mitsubishi A/Q/Fx, Omron C200/CJ/CS etc. We also provide other PLC manufacturers courses as and when requested. In addition we provide HMI and Scada courses.

The courses are almost always bespoke based on plant programs however they can be split into three levels. These levels are generic each different PLC type would differ slightly in terms of instruction set and structure.

Level 1 Introduction Course

Pre-requisites are electrical/mechanical skills and plant experienced.

Pre-requisites are Level 1 or relevant PLC experience.

The Introduction and Advanced courses are generic however company specific courses will differ in content based on company requirements.

The Third level of courses usually covers very specific requirements i.e. PLC to PLC communications, special Hardware setup, Remote I/O, Profibus/Profinet set up etc.

In addition there are HMI/Scada courses that we develop to company requirements.

All of the courses carried out have practical exercises at regular intervals to consolidate the learning and test the ability of the candidate.

The Introduction and Advanced courses are almost always 5 days in duration whereas the 3rd level of courses can be 3 to 5 days depending your the company requirements.
