Excavator Safety Essentials – DVD

Introduction

Excavators are in general use in the construction industry and are also found in many other industries including utilities, mining, quarrying, river authorities and inland waterway management. Excavators have a wide variety of uses including trenching, ditching, bank battering, bulk excavation, material handling and demolition.

Excavators are powerful machines and an accident involving an excavator can cause severe or fatal injury.

The DVD addresses the essential aspects of working safely with all types and sizes of excavators. The programme demonstrates pre-start checks and basic maintenance, basic trenching, ascending and descending gradients, safe tipper loading and provides an overview of the safe operation of quick-hitch attachments.
